Its inception was in
2000.
The U.S. Pizza Team won
the Gold Medal in Team Acrobatics at the 2007 World Championships in Italy.
The team is selected at
national contests. Participants enter in different categories, and the top
finishers are invited to be on the U.S. Pizza Team. Categories are:

Fastest Pizza Maker - who
can slap out 5 dough balls the fastest over a 12 inch screen.
·
Largest Dough Stretch - who
can stretch 500 grams of dough the largest in 5 minutes.
·
Freestyle Dough Tossing - who
can do the most tricks with 10 dough balls set to music
·
Best Pizza - the
tastiest and best-prepared pizza
